  • I'm disappointed in this workbench. Knowing I would eventually want to get our boy a tool bench, I started shopping for one when he was just when he was a newborn. After carefully reviewing every bench on the market, this seemed like the best one, based on the reviews on several sites.

But here are some of the reasons why I am disappointed:
    - The vice (vise) grip no longer opens and closes like in the previous version.
    - the nails and screws don't stay up on their own, you put them in the holes and they sink immediately (which completely defeats the purpose of pounding them down with a hammer).
    - the batteries are already drained in the saw and drill press, and it hasn't even been out of the box for a month.
    - the drill press lights are too bright and flash rapidly... seizure anyone???
    - as you'll notice from the other uploaded pictures, the hooks that hang on the tools (like the screw driver, hammer, etc) fall out immediately.
    - the storage shelf underneath is incredibly shallow; you really can't store anything of the extra pieces down there. And even the slightest play motion from your toddler will knock everything off of the lower shelf.

So with all that said, it still gets 3 stars because our 24 month old plays with it several times a day.

And another FYI: The last two years, the mega chain store with the bulls-eye logo has put this toy on sale during Black Friday weekend for $40 dollars, so Amazon drops their price too. For $40, it was an ok buy.... but for the $60 dollars it is listed for now (or for the $80 it was listed for in the weeks on Amazon prior to black Friday), I feel like this was completely over-priced. You'd be better off watching craig's list or finding it at a re-sale shop for the equally-as-good used version for around $25-30. In fact, the older used version (where the vice grip is in the front, not on the side) would give you a working vice/vise grip; which I remember playing with a real version in my dad's workshop as a kid and it was a blast!!! (while he supervised of course) :-)
  • My boys, ages 4 and 2, love the set. They like how much noise the drill and saw make and they like pretending to use the screwdrivers and hammer. We've had it since last Christmas and all of the batteries are still going strong and nothing has broken yet! The only drawback is what to do with all the extra nails and bolts. The only project that comes with it is the birdhouse. It would be nice if it had more "wood" to screw together or if they sold it separately but so far I haven't found any other projects that could be built using these tools. I'll keep looking though!

First I have to admit that I have owned cell phones since they have first come out so you know I am up there in years but I'm a tech junkie to this day! My last cell may have been my worst, the Samsung Galaxy S3. The battery was shot within a year. I had many nicer phones before that but that was my first one when I switched to prepaid service. BTW, I will never go back to contracts again! Why should you when you get the same service and connectivity with prepaid?

The LG Optimus Exceed 2 impressed right out of the box. Huge screen, super thin and light weight. Feels good in the hand but it seems very easy to hit the screen on button. I've got a case coming, maybe that will help with that matter. A double tap on the screen turns it on and the same turns it off so the button is only needed to shut it off and on anyway.

With Android Kitkat, this phone is fast! I've only just begun to dig into it and learn what it's capable of. I've had the phone all of two days. I can say it's responsive and user friendly if you've had any smart phone before. Pictures and video are pretty darn good. So far my only gripe is that the first time I tried to activate it online I went through all the steps only to get the nasty window stating online activation was not available at that time. Second time it went right through. I didn't have a prepaid card though. If you buy one and do it through the phone it might just be a snap.

The price though...I bought the last one of the shipment before this one. It was $88.. When I went online to Verizon to activate it was available there for $78., so do your research. The phone itself though is worth the price even at $88 or more! This is one power house of a cell for under $100.. Could be the new standard for phones in it's price point.

I would highly recommend this phone to anyone.
The Exceed 2 is a good choice for prepaid Verizon customers, one of the best 3G phones Verizon sells with NO contract required. Its $50 price at "Big Box" stores makes it a "Best Buy". It has a nice 4.5 inch screen in a light and compact body. It has the new Android Kitkat 4.4.2 software that few premium phones have. The Exceed 2 is locked to Verizon. A slightly different version, the LG L70, is available to MetroPcs customers. The Exceed 2 looks like a much more expensive phone. Two weak areas: the very slow 3G data speeds on the Verizon network, and very limited memory for apps and games.

Verizon stores and "Big Box" stores often sell the Exceed 2 for $50 or $70, which makes it a terrific bargain. It offers 90% of the features of $500 phones for 10% of their price.

The Exceed 2 is only 3G, not 4G, which will limit its ability to stream videos unless you are connected to wifi. The Verizon 3G speeds are usually fast enough to stream Pandora Radio.

Movies look good on the 4.5 inch screen and music sounds great with good headphones or bluetooth speakers. Calls are very clear, almost landline quality, when you have a strong Verizon signal.

The battery can last 24 hours when used for just short calls and texts, and 3 or 4 hours when streaming movies over wifi or using GPS to navigate down the highway.

You can add up to 32gb of memory but only 1.6 gb of internal memory is available to install new apps and games. At least 300mb must be left open for the phone to work smoothly. This is NOT a phone for someone who needs dozens of apps or who plays large games.

The limited memory is not a problem for people who want to just use Facebook and four or five standard apps.

The Verizon $45 a month prepaid plan with NO contract provides customers as much as a typical $100 a month contract plan. A huge savings of $600 a year. If you use "auto pay", your data allowance doubles to 1gb per month.

Product Description

Just turn it up and down. The Nest learning thermostat learns the temperatures you like and creates a custom schedule for your home. Nest automatically turns itself down after you leave so you're not heating or cooling an empty home. You can control it from anywhere using your phone, tablet, or laptop. And energy history lets you see how much energy you use and why. In independent studies, Nest saved an average of 10-12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills. That means it can pay for itself in under two years.

I purchased two of the 3rd generation Nest thermostats yesterday and installed them. Generally speaking I like them, but I bumped into two problems that you'll read about in other reviews.

1. To charge its batteries, the Nest needs a C (common) wire hooked up; otherwise it tries to charge itself whenever the heating or cooling system is running -- the only time current is passing through it. When I hooked one of my Nests up, it said it needed to charge its batteries, and even though my house had no need for cooling or heating, it turned my HVAC on for hours to charge its batteries. I researched, found out what the problem was, and hooked up a C wire (luckily my HVAC controller had a place to hook up a C wire and my thermostat wires each had three extra wires in them). Good luck to anyone without an extra wire to use.

2. Much more annoyingly, Nest refuses (refuses!) to allow the thermostat to display the current temperature. During the summer, I don't have central air. If I turn the heating system off, Nest's "Farsight" feature will only display, in big letters, "OFF." It will not display the temperature. If I turn the heating system on and set the thermostat to something low, like 60 degrees, so the heat won't ever turn on, the Nest displays "60" rather than the actual temperature in the room. This is stupid! Why should I have to wall-mount a thermometer next to the Nest to replicate its thermometer, just because the Nest programmers won't offer the option to show the current temperature? According to other reviews, Nest is willfully refusing to offer this because they think the set temperature is what should be shown. I think they have every right to show it by default, but the user should be able to pick what they want -- and in my opinion, not being able to see the room temperature is very, very stupid. I'm inclined to return the two thermostats to Nest unless I hear that they're going to issue a software update to fix this. At the moment I'm emailing their customer service and they have not been helpful at all so far.

If I could see the current temperature, I would give the Nest five stars (even with the need for the C wire, because it wasn't hard to hook up).

In the pictures below, my room was 71 degrees.

Review : First off, this item does not need any more reviews. It has plenty. But I feel I need to write one because, while there are a lot of reviewers who “get it” there are many who do not. This is a portable speaker. It was designed to be taken with you. It is *not* meant to replace your home theater system. So, to be fair you should only be comparing this speaker to other portable Bluetooth speakers. OK, so now we’ve got that out of the way. Here is what I was looking for when I set out to find a worthy replacement for my previous Bluetooth speaker - I wanted a good-sounding speaker that was portable enough, and rugged enough that I could take it with me when I travel, to the beach, on my deck, in my garage, in my workout room, and even as a tail-gating music source. Notice that I did not mention anything about replacing my home theater system!Read more black friday 2015 here
To set the record straight, I am not an audiophile although I do love music and know enough about AV equipment that I feel I can provide a relatively thorough review. Next, I want to mention the categories that are important to me when evaluating a portable speaker:
1. Sound quality
2. Portability
3. Connectivity
Let’s talk about #3 first. It is, by no means, the most important consideration BUT trust me - if you cannot easily connect your source device to your Bluetooth speaker it is a major bummer. I know from experience. My previous Bluetooth speaker (which sounded pretty darn good) took all sorts of voodoo magic to get my iPhone to connect (ie: turn Bluetooth on, turn speaker on, forget connected device, turn Bluetooth off, reboot speaker, cross fingers, turn Bluetooth back on, etc). And most of the time this routine was unsuccessful!Read more home depot black friday 2015 here
